Multiband Antennas
- Request by our
customer - Transceiver Antenna for Wireless LAN (M2M)
-
- Requirements
-
Single input terminal for shared use
Broadband element
Resonance within each band
-
- Background
-
Optionally divided into 5 bands in the bandwidth of 300 MHz to 6 GHz.
Vertical polarization wave and omni-directional in the horizontal plane
VSWR of each band to be less than 3.5
-
- Solutions
-
The system is designed to have a single input terminal for shared use, by building a central power feeding hybrid configuration, using a short dipole antenna element in the low-frequency band and a biconical antenna element in the high-frequency band.
Current blocking sleeves are added in the low-frequency band to reduce inter-band interference.
- Outcome
-
We were able to achieve a low VSWR in a wide bandwidth in the high frequency bandwidth.
Even though the antenna comes with a cover, we have achieved a thinner diameter of φ 60 mm × 300 mm and a lighter weight of less than 1 kg.
- Comment from
our engineer - As it was necessary to tune 5 bands with a single antenna, it was difficult to fine-tune each band. In order to achieve a balance between antenna characteristics and strength, we have incorporated a lot of ingenuity into the structure.
